Netflix has obtained streaming rights to the people’s servants (also known as Sluga Naroda or Слуга Народу), a series starring Volodymyr Zelsky which has been known throughout the world over the past few weeks remembering the invasion of Ukraine. Season 1 of the show is now on Netflix even though the three seasons are produced in total.
Ukrainian political sitcom followed a teacher (played by Zelskyy, the current Ukrainian president) who ran against corrupt political efforts, began a viral campaign, and then found himself unexpectedly chosen for the role.
All 24 first season episodes are now available in the Select Netflix region including Netflix in the United States, Netflix Canada, Netflix Australia, Indian Netflix, and Europe.
Three show seasons are produced in total between 2015 and 2019 on local Ukrainian announcers 1 +1.
Of course, this series is almost parallel to what happens after the series shows and maybe even one of Zelsky’s main reasons was then elected president in 2019.
Netflix has drained the previous show. In fact, last had a show between May 2017 to 2021 and it held the right to the series globally. Given the situation, Netflix has chosen to buy rights again given the interest in the series given the current situation in Ukraine.
According to Fox News, this show has boomed popularity in recent weeks with Eccho rights to tell them that “sales have increased dramatically in the past few days” adding that interest in this program is “extraordinary.
This series is only available on Netflix in Russian (although it is an original broadcast in Ukraine too) with an English subtitle. No DUB is available.
This show has also been sold to various local broadcasers throughout the world in recent weeks. In the UK, Channel 4 obtains broadcast rights for the show and therefore, is not available on Netflix UK.
Netflix has responded to the Ukrainian War in recent weeks with a Rack of all original Netflix Russian projects, refusing to add a direct flow of state broadcasters, and then slowly withdraw from all regions.
Netflix also made a documentary nominated by an Oscar burning: Ukrainian struggle for free of freedom (no need to subscribe to Netflix) on YouTube.
CFO Netflix, Spencer Neumann, said recently at a conference “for us it became … it was too difficult for, we thought, operating relative to that opportunity.”
Whether season 2 (subtitled from love to impeachment) and season 3 (subtitle options) will come to Netflix in the future unclear.
