The one-hand handbag guide came in addition to the luggage rule of check-in which was applied during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Passengers who take domestic flights will no longer be allowed to bring more luggage by hand, the Civil Aviation Security Bureau (BCAS) has been booked in a new circular, imposing a ‘one hand handbag’ throughout the airport. New rules have been applied with the aim of reducing congestion and security concerns on the ground and reducing the burden on screening points at the airport.
The decision to deliver any passengers from bringing more than one luggage cabin to flight in India, with the exception of the items listed by the government in a circle.
“According to BCAS AVSEC circular No. 06/2000 & LT12000, no passengers are allowed to bring more than one handbag other than the items that have been registered in the round including a women’s bag,” BCAS said in the order released on January 19.
“It has been seen that the average passenger brings 02-03 no handbags to the screening point. This has led to an increase in the time of permission and delay, congestion at PESC points and discomfort for passengers,” read.
The Civil Aviation Agency instructed airport operators, airport operators and other stakeholders to ensure the enforcement of ‘handbag rules’ and display them on stockpiles and passenger tickets and boarding passes for clarity.
“Airlines can be responsible and staff institutions to guide PAX, check and verify their handbag status, etc., before allowing passengers for pre-embarkation security checks,” BCAS said.
“All airlines can be directed to be appropriate to notify passengers and display the ‘handbag rules’ on their tickets / dormitories very striking,” he added.
The New Order came as an additional restriction for travelers, while facilitating the security check process at the airport. This center has implemented a one-luggage policy for luggage check-in to facilitate congestion and ensure the health protocol during the Pandemic Covid-19.
